A workshop on Congruent Communication for local company. Participants learned about, explored, and discussed what congruent communication is, what incongruent communication looked like, and how they could improve incongruent interactions.

A workshop on Myers-Briggs Types & Communication for local company.  An introduction to the different personality types, and an interactive exploration of communication needs for each type when frustrated.

November 8-11, 2009

Professional Development: The tenth annual AYE Conference, with hosts Jerry Weinberg, Esther Derby, Johanna Rothman, Steve Smith, Don Gray.  This was my fifth consecutive year in attendance.  Phoenix, AZ.

A workshop on Exploratory Testing: Writing Charters & Session Notes for local company.  Included exercises in writing testing charters, perform exploratory testing, and write session notes.  Also discussed and identified attributes of good test charters, effective test approaches, and valuable test session notes.

September 26-27, 2009

Participant at the fifth annual Toronto Workshop on Software Testing.  This years’ topic:  Coaching & Mentoring Testers.

July 13-15, 2009

At the CAST Conference in Colorado Springs, CO, an interactive session titled When Developers + Testers = Success.  Participants experienced and reflected on methods to build effective relationships between testers and developers to enable success for the team, business, and customers.

June 22-26, 2009

Professional development:  I participated in Jerry Weinberg’s workshop, Designing Experiential Exercises and Simulations, presented with Esther Derby in Albuquerque, NM.

May 27, 2009

Presented for the Kitchener-Waterloo Software Quality Association on When Developers + Testers = Success.  Participants experienced and reflected on situations where relationships between testers and developers were substandard, and those that were collaborative and empowered; leaving with insights on how to improve their own work environment.

April 22, 2009

At the KWSQA Targeting Quality Conference in Waterloo, ON, an interactive Test Management Clinic.  Participants investigated real-life challenges and discovered ways to evaluate options and select suitable solutions that they could apply as soon as they returned to their organization.
