Online!

I haven’t had an online presence in years… since 1998 in fact. Seriously! When the world wide web kicked off in the 90’s I was one of the first people I knew to get a web site up and running. Those were early days, when I actually had to build a site with code and scripts. Boy have things changed! Now all I have to do is install a couple of programs and I’m up and running. It certainly doesn’t entice me to freshen up my rusty programming skills.
Nevertheless, I finally made it back! After a couple of years thinking about whether or not to take the blog plunge, and numerous conversations with people I’ve met at various conferences, I set a goal to do it. And I’m only 36 days late! Not too shabby.
I figure that if anything, this will site will be good to try my hand at writing again. It will also give me an online presence (hopefully a good one). .. and if no one ever reads it, oh well. At least I’m getting something out of it for me.
So, what to expect from ‘yet another blog’? For starters, this is my blog. I have very ecletic tastes, so I believe you will find what I share to be varied and interesting at the least. My primary purpose for this blog is to share musings and experiences related to software, testing, leadership, management, people, and other interesting work-related things. I also hope to share and explore some of the many hobbies and interests I have as well.
Time will tell.
And on that note, some of my family and friends will be the first to tell you that I’m often commiserating about the lack of time I have to keep up with people and various activities. If I don’t post for a while, it’s likely because I’m having trouble squeezing in a few minutes to write a post. Hmmm.. when I put it that way, that sounds pretty lame. I better stay on top of this one!
Ciao for now,
- Selena
